It's more the fact that they are difficult to keep alive if they are wild caught, since they like to feed on toads. Generally if people catch them in the wild they wont sell them, but instead breed them and once you know that the babies are healthy and stuff and feeding well on mice, then they'll sell those. But wild caught ones can have too many internal problems or something, plus won't be as friendly as captive bred.
I love it when they play dead rolling over on their backs, and then, when turned right side up again, roll over again! Had a wild caught one years ago and she never did become friendly. But I like toads too and became less and less happy sacrificing them to her. Finially released her back to where I caught her. But she wasn't nearly as cute as yours are!
