Pics and Stories of your Silkies

Silkies are very interesting chickens, everyone gets a kick out of them. I have 2 in my flock, both supposed to be hens, but our white silkie turned out to be a Roo. Prince is the gray silkie, I have one pic of when she was a chick so I had to post it, silkies are adorable as chicks.

Our two new Silkies, Philippa and Phyllis - no idea how old they are...

Still getting them used to cuddling, but they are getting there :)

Another silkie...

This is Lola. Her BFF is a Plymouth Barred Rock named Callie. They are ALWAYS together. This is Itty Bitty just 24 hours old. You can see how tiny she is next to the egg. She is 1 1/2 months old now.

Beautiful! They are such funny chickens - I actually love it when they go broody because they let me pick them up!

My mom and I rescued a pair of silkies. They both died about 3 months later :(

Doe, blue partridge rooster.

Ray, Buff pullet

I also hatched out a Turken/EE/Silkie July 22nd, 2012.

Aww, I'm sorry. I purchased a $15 dollar SQ blue silkie rooster mainly for show/breeding purposes, but never realized how sweet he was: talk about sweet...! And then he died from lice about a week later.
