Thanks for the compliment, Yolanda. I think they're pretty, but I might be biased.

Scratch'n'peck: they lay around 18 weeks? Wow-that's like, any minute now. They were hatched Feb 10 (these pics are from June 11). So perhaps the suspense won't be much longer.

Someone told me that these curling feathers in the back mean Buffy is going to be a rooster, which is what got me worried.

Well, they haven't crowed. Still no eggs though.

I've been looking for this "egg squat" I keep reading about, but since they don't let me touch them, it's hard to say.

I'm glad to know what it is though. All this time I thought my RIR was cringing because she was afraid of me.
 
Have their combs gotten any redder? My BO look like yours ( mine are just about 18 weeks)- still pinkish, but she sometimes does the squat.
