They like to hide. So pics are hard to get. But I did get some pics from the seller.

I got them from Toddnbecka from aquariacentral.com.. I hope he dont mind me using his picture. I did give him credit for them..

I got Bristlenose Plecos. I got 6 browns that came from 2 rare Super Red Bristlenose. And I got one actual Super Red fry..

What the browns look like.

Here is what the Super Red fry look like. But mine looks redder in person.

Here is what A Super Red Bristlenose looks like as an adult. This is an adult male that came from Germany. Would have looked a bit redder if he was in the light..

In about a year they will be breeding age. I hope if I breed the red to the brown with red genes. Then I will get some red fry.. I sure hope so. Or I will have to dish out more money for more reds.. But it will be worth it in the end. Not many people have the Super Reds. And you will most likely never ever find them in a pet shop.. The browns you can find almost any where. But not the brown that have the red genes.. Have to get those culls direct from the breeder. It was cheaper to buy the brown ones..

I have a 55 set up right now..

The bristlenose only gets about 4 inches. Tops out at 5 inches, for the largest ones.. That is why I picked this type of algae eatter. And you can sex them by the bristles. Males have more and longer bristles. The females some times never get bristles..

I also have a 20 gallon regular, 25 long, I believe a 40. An antique 5gal that has the metal edges on the whole tank. And about ten 10 gallons. But these all are not set up. Well the 40 and 25 long are out back with water in them. I put big rocks in there to get algae on them, to feed my plecos..

Getting attached to fish. I believe it.. I had one fancy goldfish for 10 years.. Tank seems empty with out him. Some of my fish actually have names. LOL.. I guess they can be as addicting at chickens. I had fish before birds..

Congratulations on your new plecos.

I will be interested in a Red Bristlenose when my baby departs. I have say that I hope to have it for a long more. I think that I have had what I was told is a Chocolate pleco. My pleco is in the 12" to 13" range now. I have had it for about 5 or 6 years if I remember right. Right now my 75 gallon tank can't take any more fish. Something about an 18" eel plus a bunch of others. So you are saying that the Red Bristlenose don't get bigger than 5" or 6"? Are they fresh water?

Yes bristlenose plecos are freshwater.. Most never get bigger than 5 inches I have been told.. I have heard of a few getting 6 inches.. But many people say they stay closer to just over 4 inches. The Red Bristlenoses are new to the US. The person I got them from imported his from Germany last year. I have only seen maybe 3 people in the US selling (so far) the Red Bristlenose. I got my baby red which is only about 2 inches for $20.. But the brown culls from a red to red breeding only cost me $3 each.. So that is why I am hoping I will get some red fry from the ones I got. Then I would keep back the red ones to breed back to the parent..

I'll have to show some pics of mine. But the batterys are not staying charged and I just got them. Don't know if it's the battery's or charger. Two years ago my son won some gold fish at a local fair and he still has them.

Waiting for fish is almost as bad as waiting for eggs. I ordered my special fish (so special I can't remember what they are) from California, had to wait two months for them to ship due to the weather. than I got the joy of watching the UPS driver throw them out the back of the truck. Appearantly the bright red writing that said live animals handle with care wasn't bright enough! I had 2 DOA's and the rest died within a couple of weeks. The only good thing I got was a crap load of shrimp that I still have. Totally wasn;t worth it. I paid more for the shipping than I did for the fish.
