Pics of quail watering systems?

- You'd want at least 2 or 3 nipples in each cage, in case one get clogged up they still have water with the other nipples. (Haven't happened to me though)

- Sorry not picture, but I just mount directly to horizontal PVC pipes. They recommended 1 inch pipe, but I've used 3/4 inch for the horizontal OK.

- If you are going to have a lot of nipples I suggest buy a tap same thread size as the nipple. Easier to build without leak and easier on the hand.

- How high is your water source? Be careful if too high. The bottom cage may have too much water pressure for the nipples. Should still work but will squirt out water on the floor.

- When I started Robby from JMF advised me to keep just the jumbo coturnix for simplicity of cage arrangement, sex identification and temperament. Great advise. I started with 4 different types and now downsizing to just jumbo cot. But this is my personal choice.

Good luck.

I only worry about the jumbo's size for my cages. I'll have 4 cages approximately 1.6sq ft per cage. I was hoping to do 2 females in each enclosure even though that's just not quite 1sq ft per bird. I wasn't sure about pushing my square footage per bird with the jumbo's, you know?

I'd have picked buttons if I didn't think they were so dang flighty. I was trying to aim for 6 eggs per day. So I panned on 8 birds on hand. I'd like to leave the bottom cage for 2 meat birds that I'll continually raise (I'd like to possibly offset them by a couple weeks if possible).

But if you think two jumbo's could do that size I'm certainly no expert... just me snooping on the internet and lots of hours of reading tells me no. so I hadn't planned on it.
