He is doing great, says hi to all, threw his grenades a little too far the first time did great the second time.

Writer Congratulations If I remember correctly DH went to Jacksons webpage and found a number to call about staying on base. They were full but they gave us the name of a hotel close by with a discounted rate. My son scored expert too. I really hope you can make the trip I know you want to be there.
My son left for dessert training for a month. He will be in lockdown so we won't hear from him. Then he comes back to camp to get ready to deploy to Iraq again. Be very glad when all this is over and hes safe. I truly hope by the time your son get out of AIT its over on both fronts. Micki

Thank you, I'm hoping it will be over soon too. At least I have a little peace of mind knowing that for the next 6 years he is non-deployable while in college/ROTC. He'll do his AIT next June at Ft. Leonard Wood. I called the Ft. Jackson number and got the Victory travel agency/center, they had a couple of places to check out but they weren't on any of the travel packages I've checked out. I have to get it taken care of though within the next couple of days.

I made reservations at the Days Inn Columbia Ft. Jackson, I'll arrive the evening of the 19th so if anyone lives in the area and wants to get together I'd love to meet some local BYCers!!

I'm getting more and more excited now. I put together a bunch of stuff I'm going to put in Ebay and start selling anything I don't need to make sure I've got the funds for the taxi and stuff like that. I tried to go to bed early but couldn't sleep worth a darn!

Oh I am so glad you get to go. I think thats where we stayed as well.lol I wish we were closer I would love to meet ya, but we are 7 hours away. I remember that drive. We took our two grandchildren with us it was one looong drive. At least I didn't have to have DH stop for pit stops garnddaughter has the kidneys of a mouse. lol Have a great time Micki
