*PICS* of the babies out in the coop for the first time today

What a great camera set-up!...and nice chicks.
I can see how by browsing this post will cost me some serious $$$$$'s.

Thank you ....

The camera was a luxury .... Amazon $255

Here is the coop: http://bracken.name/html/coop.html

The
run is obviously finished, it matches the coop and I'll post pictures tomorrow

At the risk of hijacking the thread, I have a couple of questions:

Did you use the Panasonic router (BB-HGW700A) and how far can the router be from the camera?

Thanks in advance and congratulations on the high level of workmanship on both the coop and the cam set-up.

I have a Linksys WRT54G router .... it's cheap, and it does exactly what it says on the box

er .... how long is a piece of string? My camera is about 30ft from the router, and the signal goes through 2 walls. Signal strength is high.

If I needed it further away, I have a spare router which can be hacked and used as a range extender/wireless access point.

None of this is difficult, just frustrating at times.

Suzi,
thanks for the pictures. My 15 chicks are only 12 days old and can't wait for THEIR day.
How warm was it there today?

It was up to about 73-75 here. it's still about 72, at 5:30
Only supposed to go down to 52 tonite (which means about 45-48here on the lake) so I will leave them out with the heat lamp and a good draft sheild. I have the turkeys still in the house becasue I am going to keep them apart to feed them the higher protein feed. I have the chicks on a 16% chick starter and the turkeys on 20%.
I'm in the middle of taking all the various cages out and pressure washed them so I can set them back up empty, waiting for the next batch of whatever orphans I get dropped on the doorstep! ( I always keep a few cages and tanks set up with bedding and such so I can just plop the new ones in. I guess I'll have to be keeping a brooder set up as well now!
