*Pics pg 13-Hatch complete-QUESTION*-Day 22-Is third time the charm?

I've got one chick hatched and 7 or 8 more pips out of 11 eggs that went into the hatcher. These are the last eggs in the bator until fall.

Thank you!
It was getting pretty discouraging to not get any but, now I have a successful hatch. It's just a matter of how successful!

Farmer Kitty - did your first two hatches that failed make it to day 18? I know to be patient but here we are at day 21 (almost day 22) and not even a pip. My first hatch at least had pips on day 21...

I am getting more anxious by the moment. Now they aren't even wiggling anymore:(

My first hatch I was questioning by day 14, posted about it on day 16 and everyone assured me the looked good. In hind sight with more experience I think they were gone by day 14.

My second hatch went to day 25. I found out when I was resetting the bator for these eggs that the thermometer was off by about 4 degress to high. So they were actually incubating 4 degrees to low! It was just to low in the end they didn't make it.

I've got 6 in the skillet bator right now that we are not seeing anything on. I know it is very tempting to candle and see what's going on but, I know one should wait for at least day 23 so that's what I will do. These eggs went in at 2:20 p.m. on the 6th. If you go by that they are on day 22 but, when you put them in during the afternoon you start counting day 1 the next day.

If you have had temp issues that can delay the hatch. Maybe your thermometer is off. Maybe you had a power outage. Any little thing. There isn't much you can do at this point but wait.

Forgot to say-mine didn't wiggle until they started pipping and then not much.

I know and thanks Farmer Kitty. Its harder to wait when they are at your own house. Whats funny is that when I did this at school this spring I didn't control the humidity, the bator got bumped more than once and I had a crappy themometer and LOTS of temp fluctuations. Even opened the bator during hatch ( I definately know better now) Still got a hatch...

This time I know SOOOOO much more and have been very careful and bought a hygrometer and a better themometer.
Sigh...
