(Pics Updated!)Newbie Chicken Coop Project (pics)

Well right now I am at a little of a standstill for a day or two. I've got someone who is wiling to give me plenty of leftover vinyl siding, and some old windows, so that is a plus. I also lined up a deal with a guy to get a couple bundles of shingles for 5 bucks a piece. I'm just taking a day to sit back and look at the coop, and think about where it is going to be by the end of the year. I might just go ahead and double the size before I get any further into the project. If my wife gets bitten by the silkie bug, I won't really have a choice.

Well I really made a lot of headway this weekend until the rain today.

Upon restarting the project, I decided it needed to get bigger. So I took the coop from 20sq ft to 35sq ft. That is a sizeable increase, and gave a total run space of about 40sq ft. I decided that I am also going to extend out to the left after I am finished, and hopefully this will give me a run space of 60-70 sq ft. Before I show pics, I should just let you all know that I know I am a messy worker. Thats just me I guess

Here I am after getting the first side framed. The window down to the left will be refinished and go into place:

Here is the second wall framed. The opening on the bottom will be 3 nest boxes when it is finished:

Next is the front side which will have a window on the right, and the main access door on the left. I'll have to find a handy place to keep a step ladder out here

And last but not least, the whole thing is framed in, but the rain is being a pain in the butt.
