Fast question... Are Is a very cold tolerant? We were thinking of getting a couple to add to our flock. Not too many. I know what books say about them, I was wondering what an owner thought. Thank you for your time.

I mean- we have had like 4 degrees at night during winter they were fine. We did add a heater in our coop though.

Cold isn't a problem for chickens because they are wearing built-in down coats.

Heat is the problem.

Yes, we have a heater as well. I live in the north, and we average about 10 to -10 , with wind moat days, below 0. Thanks for the information. Be well, and thanks again..

I was taking photos of my chickens (same day as the Sparkie picture) and I was putting them on my duck house. My chicken named Pancake, didn’t wanna get down, so only one out of the 5 pictures of Delta don’t have her sneaking around in the back! I love Pancake. She sure is an interesting hen!

Awesome picture. My EE is definitely the most curious and friendly one of my girls. The others follow her lead for sure. She is the one closest to me. Her name is Tigger.
