Picture Of The Week (POW) Information & Submissions

This is Ziggy Stardust. He’s 12 weeks old. He was originally purchased with a clutch of six other 2 week-old chicks. We bought our first pair of Polish chicks: a Golden Laced named Petunia; and a Silver Laced we named Pebbles.

Petunia crowed at 7 weeks, and was re-named Keith Richards.

Pebbles crowed at 11 weeks, and we found out that she was not only a “he”, but also Swiss, not Polish🐓
Congrats on POW! Handsome guy, I love his “hair”!

Do you see what I see?

How about a closer look?

Ah yes, there they are!

These two dorks stayed out in below -20°C temps with 70-80km winds for 3 days and 2 nights, refusing to come down from the tree. The most they did to stay warm was get closer to one another on some not-to-thick branch..
As you see I tried several attempts to get them down, the final resort was on the third day it was nice and we let the others out (with the feeder and some straw down). The lavender pullet went into the coop upon night fall, while the pied pullet decided to recruit the pearl hen and the cinnamon cockerel to roost out on top of the coops run. I had to climb onto the framework and netting to get the silly birds back inside with the flock :th
