I believe you. The comb laying over like that and pale she was at deaths door. Now she is healthy and happy and her comb is normal. Like I said bless your heart for saving them.

It was edema and un healthy. Now it is healthy.
Just goes to show what exercise and good nutrition can do for a body.
Imagine if people would try that for themselves?
I know, it wasn't a healthy comb. It wouldn't surprise me if it does flop over again, but it will never look anything like that again!

I believe you! Lol just seemed odd I have a hen that has a cone that kind of flops over and when I seen yours I thought oh she's not the only one! But Winnie's my hens wasn't quite as floppy. Just amazed that it totally went away.
In the cages they get so big to help them cool down in such warm conditions. I've got one girl who has a big flopped comb and it always comes and goes when she's moulting

Here's Winnie you can see her odd cone.

Aww she looks lovely.
I believe you. The comb laying over like that and pale she was at deaths door. Now she is healthy and happy and her comb is normal. Like I said bless your heart for saving them.
I did think I was going to lose Rosie at one point, but she made it!

I've been trying to cheer up Lacey today. She's had some mealworms and then she went to this little shed that the rats destroyed last year. She loves it and when ever I open it she never leaves it. So she was looking at it so I went and cleaned it out for her and whilst I was doing that she was peaking through the holes. When it was done I opened it and she went straight in and was in the there for ages. She was still in when I left!

Well that was a stressful morning at the hens !! was all going well but then I saw Jeremy duck sneaking to go find Lacey. I looked up and he had found her and was chasing her. He was getting close and I could tell he was going to get her but I was ages away and had to like run a maze! On my way I came across top hen PL fighting with Poppy, the new Maran girl. Last time they had a fight it got messy so I was like caught between the two situations. Next thing I saw was that Jeremy was on Lacey with her screaming, so grabbed PL and shoved her in the food shed and ran to Lacey's rescue. By the time I got there Jeremy was still on her because as some of you may know he's an Indian runner so he's not exactly built for mating a call female. So he got pushed off and got chased away! Let PL out the shed and poppy the maran made her way to the woods. Later PL went into the woods and poppy went over and wacked her one so they started fighting again. As usual with them two it gets real messy real quick and they ended up fighting backed into a corner so I had to split them up in the end. I'm not sure what the new girls problem is with PL. They had little scraps with the other hens and rather won or lost but with PL they like want to fight her to the death. Wonder if it's something to do with her being boss or if they know she's old as she's like 3 times their age. They had a fight a couple weeks ago and they've both only just recovered from that one now as I wasn't there to split it up!

You ask yourself, why can't they all just get along? I have the same problems. Poor Lacey I'm glad you got to spend some time with her. Is there anyway you can keep Jeremy from getting to her? It seems like the males go after the females that don't want to be bothered.

The pics are so pretty and a beautiful blue sky. Thanks so much for sharing your birds with us.

Just picked these two girls up to go with Jeremy to his new home tomorrow. He's going to someone with a big yard and field which has a pond in. They don't have any other ducks so couldn't take just Jeremy. I really wanted him to go to them as its a good home so I've bought them two girls to go with him. I know I'm out of pocket but a good home means more to me than money. I sooo want to keep them tho, but wouldn't be fair to send two of my old girls because I love them too and all the girls are bonded so I don't want to upset the group anymore. Now I've just got to catch Jeremy! This will be fun considering I couldn't catch him in a pen and now he's free range! Will do it when he goes after Lacey as the rage will make me better haha

Feel so bad for PL. She's holding onto her top hen status with everything she's got. She's had her face done in badly twice now by the new girls but she refuses to back down. When she's recovering she avoids the new ones but then all her girls have a pop too but she sharp sorts them out! Just wonder when she's going to rather beat the new girls or accept she's not boss anymore. If I have out to do with it she will be staying on top!

I'm glad you found Jeremy a good home. He was making Lacey miserable. Good luck with catching him. You may need some help in doing that.

Tell Pl we are rooting for her. The pecking order is so cruel. Right now Skiddles isthe top hen in our coop but I think Fanny may get that position if something happens to Skiddles.

Gorgeous pics I love all the green grass and the beautiful ducks and chickens. Lacey looks better already. Is she quacking more now? She is such a cutie.

The chickens on the hill dustbathing is great. They have a beautiful home. Jeremy looks like he is enjoying his new home with his big girls. I'm glad he has settled in.

Bella my favorite chicken is beautiful as always along with her auntie and Orh. How many orpingtons do you have?

Thanks so much for sharing the beautiful pics with us.
