Picture thread of my hens!

No wonder you can't walk without tripping on them.

It looks like they are mobbing you. Do they like you are the feed bucket the most?

It sounds like your getting a rescue group togeather. That rooster probably thinks he died and went to heaven with food and all those girls you have. He's not going anywhere.

The little baby duck is precious and thank you so much for rescueing it from the road. It was so lucky you came along when you did.

Bella and her aunt and mom are precious. I could just sit down and hold Bella for hours. She probably wouldn't like it but I could bribe her with mealworms or corn.

You sure couldn't tell Rosie and Tina are exbattery hens now by looking at them. Their feathers are beautiful.

I love the stone wall in the picture. They sure don't make them anymore like that here. How old are the buildings in the pictures?

Thanks so much for sharing your pictures with us they make my day. Have a great day too.
Thank you! The cockerel is at my friends hens not mine though. The building behind their stone wall is a house and I couldn't tell you how old it is. The buildings behind Tina and Rosie were built by my grandad and uncle like 40 years ago or even more! I hope you have a great day too :).

Me and the hens are deffo doing something right this year! The complements on their eggs are endless. My work colleague who gets them off me had some given to them off their friend and she said she ate 2 and chucked the rest out because they tasted nothing like mine, so she just bought more from me even though I charge and theirs were free. I give 12 to my friend on Saturday and they were asking me for more yesterday as they've all been eaten, all mams friends at work are wanting eggs off me as they say mine are way better than the ones that someone brings in. They all say what ever I'm doing, I'm doing it right!

Just been to feed the dumped cockerels and there's more!! Last time I saw them properly last week there was only 2 little ones now there's 5!! The little ones especially are really sweet!

As if it's a year today that I found poor Mabel sat on the side of the road. She had been there a while and had her back ripped open by a predator. She was really under weight and had worms. She was so scared when I went to get her but once I pulled the food out she couldn't resist! She's never stopped tripping me over ever since! I hope you can see the difference in her from when I got her to now!

Bless your heart for feeding the homeless roo's . That is so sad that people would dump them to fend for theirselves.

Maebel looks fat and healthy and happy now. There is a big difference in the before and after.

No wonder your eggs taste better. Look at the beautiful area they have and are well taken care of and all the love you give them.

Thanks for sharing the pictures you have a beautiful flock. Have a great day and bless your heart.

Yes, John the poultry rescuer has a good soul. Thank you for rescuing that poor mallard duckling before it was squished like the rest of the family. Those little round roosters look like Pekin chickens (Cochin bantam in the U.S.)

It is the free range. all of the insects and greens. fresh air and sunshine. and they know they are loved. They are contented chickens.

He is a good soul, isn't he?

Yes he is.

Aww thank you all so much! I'll always have a big soft spot for Mabel. She was one of my first really tame chickens. It's so nice to see now as when she first came and for many months after all she did was follow me around. I had to feed her separately from the rest as she was bullied really bad. She used to love my company. Now she does still come and sit with me every now and then but she no longer relies on me as much, she's got her own friends now too which is so nice to see as I'm not always there for a long time so it was sad when she used to sit and watch me walk away from the gate. I spoke to my friend yesterday and the little duckling is doing well still :). As for the cockerels, it started snowing yesterday and they are much higher up than me so I went up to feed them before it got too bad. Can't get up there today sadly, the snow is too bad that way

Happy ducks

Wow more snow I bet Lacey is really mad about that. I hope she hatches her eggs soon I miss her in the pictures and I can't wait to see those babies.

Josie is very photogenic and you can tell she loves to have her picture taken. She is so pretty.

Bless your heart for taking care of the roos. I hope they have a place to get out of the snow.

Thanks so much for sharing the beautiful pics with us. They make my day and you have a great day.
