Oh gosh...is there anything green leaking out of it? My collieX got ahold of a PWLeghorn baby I had and I thought it would be ok, but it had a lump like that but further down & I couldn't let it suffer. But if it's been nearly a week, and it seems better...wow. What are you putting on it?

no there no infection yet...just trying to keep it clean. we have a little routine down.
everyday I wash the towels in hot water and bleach and dry on high heat.
I bleach th shower floor and walls.
tI check for signs of infection and apply peroxide to any suspicious looking areas.
I put her back in the shower and run the warm water over her for a few minutes.
Then I slather the wound with neosporin, put the fresh towels down wrap her up in a warm hand towel, give her the antibiotics and then put he back in.
So far so good!
I'm actually REALLY surprised how well she is doing.
She is obviously still very much hurt, but she eats a litttle and drinks a little more each day.
My husband really wanted to kill her when it first happened because we both thought the chances were so slim that she would live.
Now I think the odds are starting to rise...I'm really hoping she pulls through.

nah her croop is further down...the lump is just her neck...every since it happened it kinda buldges in an S shape...I'm not sure if it's normally that way and I never noticed because of her feathers or if it's just because the skin isn't holding in the proper place or what...
