I'm really surprised at how fast her wound is closing...It's about 35 % healed already! She's doing great.
We let her play outside with the other chickens, they picked on her for a few minutes but she puffed up and showed em' who was boss.
We stayed out there with her doing yard work for a few hours, then brought her in for the night.
DH wanted to leave her out since she seemed fin but I want her to stay in for at least another week or two.

Well she's been back outside for 2 days she's about 75% healed up...she's a bit smaller than the other chickens now but over all doing great!! She seems to enjoy being back with the group. They have a heat lamp in their hen house so it's really not that much of an adjustment for her. Just thought I'd let you guys know!
I'm still amazed she even made it! That was quite a bit of skin that was missing!

I am SO glad to hear that your hen is getting better!

My roo wasn't so lucky...it was a pack of weenie dogs that tore into him and another of my hens.

But, I will keep the little one in my prayers anyway.

I'm so happy your chicken is healing amazingly well. Is it just me, or does anybody else feel weird twinges or pain when they look at a picture like this? I guess it's sympathy pains.
