Pictures around the ranch

Your ranch is amazing. And it's been pretty popular too. I remember seeing your website when I saw your blue ringneck pheasants on eggbid a while back, probably in 2007-2008.
What kind of chickens do you raise?
Do you have any pictures of your pheasants raising their own babies?

Thanks, the blue ringnecks did very well when we introduced them.

For chickens-- we raise Yokohama, Sumatra, Pheonix, Japanese bantams, Rumpless bantams, Old English bantams, Silkies & Showgirls. Plus we have our "brood stock" which we use to hatch eggs from our other birds.

I am working on a few new colors of some. I have raised rare birds, but understanding the genetics and colors in chickens is quite challenging.

Trying to produce a tri colored spotted Rumpless (the Millie Fluer or Tolbunt color) here are some of the results so far:

Sorry don't have any pic of pheasants with babies, we do let our pheasant hens that go broody, incubate and hatch.

This is the most amazing thread - your place is amazing and the work that goes into all those creatures is incredible. I cannot imagine what your feed and vet bills must be like!!!! It is fantastic to see all the animals so healthy and well cared for and the variety is brilliant. Thanks for all the pictures - I am particularly fascinated by the vulturines - never seen them before but also your donkey pictures. I am used to the small donkeys here in the UK and have never seen any so big - crikey!!
Thanks for sharing your place and animals

Yes we do, I usually sell eggs on ebay, infact I just listed some emu eggs last night:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130364696388&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT

We normally sell alot of eggs, but since we sold our quail, partridge and most of the pheasants last fall, we will not have as many to sell this year.

We will probably be selling:

Chicken- Sumatra, Yokohama, Rumpless, Japanese, English
Ducks- Wood, Mandarin, Black East Indies, Muscovy, Wild Muscovy
Geese- Egyptian, Sebastopol, Buff
Guineas- domestic mixed colors
Turkeys- Bourbon Red, Royal Palm, Mottled, Eastern, Blue Slate, Black Spanish
Pheasants- Blue Ringnecks, Silvers, Swinhoe, Red Golden, Reeves
Ostrich
Ruffed Grouse
Peafowl- Blue, Black Shouldered, White, Blue Pied, Emerald Pied Spalding, Silver Pied.

I have NOT worked on a sale list yet, so I do not have prices for them.

I'm loving the mille patterned birds. Absolutely gorgeous. I've always been a fan of that color, especially the ones with more white. Unfortunately it seems the show standard for mille fluer (at least with my experience in D'Uccles) calls for a mostly brown bird. All mine have always been very flashy with lots of tricolor!
