(Pictures). Chicken lethargy, droopy comb, runny droppings and more :( Please help if you can!

You probably need to worm your entire flock of chickens to prevent more of them getting sick.
On the list of things to get done indeed. Cleaning out both of the coops and putting down new bedding. Considering using Sand over Straw, heard it was a better material to use. And yea worming them all and disposing of the eggs we have currently out of precaution.

I know this is an old thread, but the exact same thing happened to my two Leghorns, not even 2 weeks apart. Does anyone know what it is???

It's the exact same symptoms, droopy comb, lethargy, and runny droppings. One of them already passed away, the other one is just showing the exact same signs and doesn't move very much.
They usually get all-flock feed pellets by Nutrena, but this time I got Nutrena NatureWise Layer 16% Crumbles, 50 lb.
None of our other chickens our acting this way. Our Leghorns would ALWAYS run away from us, but just before Peg (other leghorn who already passed) died, she wouldn't move and let me hold her. Angel (this leghorn) is still moving if we come near her, but our dog was able to go up a sniff her (our dog is friendly towards our chickens, but our chickens aren't fond of her). Not eating or drinking, no changes in environment, and they've had this feed before, so I don't think that's affecting them.
I don't have pictures this moment, I'll try to get some soon.

I'm sorry to hear that you already lost one:hugs

Can you take a stool sample to your vet for testing?

O.K. So your's have the exact same symptoms -- dirty butt, bumblefoot and FlyStrike?
The chicken in this thread had Flystrike, which is an infestation of maggots. Likely she died from infection.

If she has the exact same symptoms as the OP's hen, they you need to bring her in, clean up the rear end and check to make sure she has no maggots or infection.

Give her a good going over for lice/mites, check her crop-how does that feel, check the bottom of her feet for signs of bumblefoot and feel the abdomen for any bloat/feeling of fluid.

Do what you can to keep her drinking and encourage her eat. Sometimes it's hard to know what's wrong with a chicken - worms, coccidiosis, reproductive disorder, crop issues, toxins and disease are all common.

Check her over and let know if you find anything and we'll go from there.

OP's symptoms that I have pulled from this thread:
one has been observed laying around the yard and seems to be very weak.

Seems to be diarrhea to me but her feathers have also started to look like they are rotting?

appears to have lost weight[/QUOTE]

Her comb has become discolored and extremely droopy.

washing the bottoms of the Hens feet this evening, they are indeed scabs/warts.

She had flystrike.

Sorry, I realize I meant the same symptoms as mentioned in the title and not the actual post. I checked and she has no flystrike or bumblefoot, her butt fluff does have some poop on it (diarrhea).
I don't have a vet to take her to, sadly. There is an exotic vet in my area, but I've been told it's not a very good one... (I have a friend who use to work there and behind-the-scenes isn't all that great...). She's not interested in any food or water.
No lice or mites as far as I can see. Her chest/crop is a bit bald, but that's because she's molting right now.

Is her crop empty since she has not been eating or drinking?
Did you notice the symptoms when you changed feed?
How old?

She's molting, so no eggs right? Did she ever have problems laying eggs (soft shells, prolapse, etc.)?

Molting can be hard on them, but since this is the second with similar symptoms it's very concerning.
Feel her abdomen, is she bloated or have fluid (below the vent between the legs).

Molting can make them feel lousy, but since one has already died, you could treat her for Coccidiosis and worms to see if that makes a difference. Safeguard liquid goat wormer at .23ml per pound of weight for 5 days in a row or Valbazen at 1/2ml then repeat in 10 days.

For Coccidiosis use Corid 1 1/2 teaspoons Corid powder or 2 teaspoons of 9.6% Corid liquid per gallon of water. Give for 5-7 days as the only source of drinking water.

After you finish the Corid, give vitamins and probiotics.

If you happen to lose her, getting testing would be a good idea so you know what happened. You can find your state lab on this list

I went out to find her and couldn't, we free range and as all chickens, they return to their coop at dusk, but she didn't return.
I searched for her for a little while, but was rushed and didn't have a lot of time. I did a somewhat thorough search of the yard (there's a lot of large salt cedar trees), but couldn't find her :(

Oh No!
She might be roosting in one of the cedars. I hope you are able to find her:hugs
