Pictures of geese flying

It's funny, I've noticed a certain squawk or honk that I think Elly makes, maybe she is stating that she is about to take off... lol. They start running and the short flight starts. I'm intent on getting more pics because I think when they get heavier, there won't be anymore flights.

From the picture, it looks like Elly gets some height in her flying!

Not graceful at all

My geese try to fly.
Our backyard is on a gradient down from the house, so when I let them out in the morning they race up the hill toward the garage (their favorite place) flapping with all their might in hopes of taking off. The only one who flies anything worth mentioning is my shetland, Yavanna. she gets about a foot off the ground.
One day she got a little ambitious and lost control. Our backyard is landscaped so that there is a piece semi-flat yard reinforced by railroad ties. this creates a kind of terrace for half the yard. I don't know if geese fly with their eyes shut, or they just don't quite know how to control the aerlerons, but that day Yavanna flew smack into the wall. When I got over there, she was fine, shaking it off, and daring me to mention it. My brother and I just about fell over laughing.
She still tries to fly--but only after planning her trajectory.

Ironically enough, my white chinese goose runs across the yard flapping, but she never gets off the ground. My pair of embden geese actually flew over a short (3' tall) fence right after I got them - much to my surprise/astonishment. They are about twice the size of my white chinese goose and they get way more "air" than she does.

I see you got more geese that s so cool now your only goose has friends. My Embden has never even tried to fly even when he was younger, now he's way to heavy. Him and our Toulouse goose will play take off in the driveway but neither of them leave the ground.
