Here's my chicken coop, it houses my 4 hens and 1 rooster. I built it in February, don't mind the date on the picture:). I'm going to be painting it this weekend and it will finally be completely done!!
Nice. Looks good unpainted. I like the tall, narrow door and the chicken sign.

Guess I'll go ahead and post this now. The coop is mostly finished, but the run has yet to be built.

I will also probably post it in an "ugly coops" thread lol. It is a hodge podge of recycled material. Only the plyboard was new. It's 8x12, but has a divider down the middle on the inside to separate ducks and chickens. It obviously still needs painted, also. I haven't decided on a color yet. Should take some more pictures, too.. The backside is prettier (albeit holier..) than the rest as it's old barn wood rather than plyboard. Ventilation isn't an issue (although the ducks are still, as ducks are, smelly..) with opening windows on either side, small windows with a flip-up wood cover on the doors, and about 6 inches open under the roof all along the front and back (covered in hardware cloth). Security isn't an issue, either, with every hole bigger than a half-inch covered in hardware cloth, and a buried hardware cloth skirting the whole length of the outside. (Hard to tell in the photos, but there are two bird-sized doors next to the big doors, also.)
The run will be big (12x30, also split), about to the edge of the first picture, as they can't free-range. DH had better get his rear in gear already.. the guys and gals are sick of being cooped up.

We are not quite finished yet. We have mostly the basics! I have to finish the door, the roof, the air vents, and then finish it off. BUT it's a long way from where we started!

This is our coop the inside is before nesting boxed and roosting poles. It has storage in the lower section for feed bedding etc. the coop is 4x8 and the run is 12 x 8 offset to fit aroung the trees. A lot of it is salvaged material but some is stuff I got for cheap because its seconds. Still plan to expand the run with sections that can be closed off and add more permanent feeders and waterers.

Here's mine, modified from plans (the nesting boxes and small door at the front of the tractor.

Mine free-range all day, but I went with the tractor style so we don;t need to worry about always waking up early to let them out.

The feeder has been changed to 3" PVC with a Wye at the bottom, and works much better.

My husband and I built this in the early spring this year. We thought it would be cheaper to build our own but boy were we wrong! Oh well, it's what we wanted!

I like it. Little coat of some leftover paint, divided run up, a wading pool for the ducks and those critters will be very happy.
