I am. However I just purchased a new machine - a Brother and am eager to play with it now that winter has set in. I just purchased some fabric to do a black/white and red log cabin quilt. I have placemats and other gifts planned to make but never got to it this fall. I will be cleaning up Christmas after today (little Christmas) and then I can get started.

Which Brother did you get? I have the Brother CS-6000i, given to me as a very generous gift. Saves my hands for the actual quilting part. I've tried to quilt on it, but can't get it to work for that. It's probably me, think I need someone to hands-on show me how to do quilting on it. It skips stitches badly when I try to quilt on it, but piecing on it is fabulous.
Yes, that is the same machine that I have!!! I just got it in late August. It is still in the box. I am really looking forward to getting to work on it.
Stay warm!!
Most people piece and quilt by machine. I did both by hand until about 3 years ago. At that time, I was gifted a nifty little Brother machine and learned to use it and I now piece on that to save my carpal tunnel-ravaged hands, but I still quilt by hand.Oh my. I love all of these quilt pictures! It's something I've been wanting to learn! Does anyone have any books or websites they recommend for someone that's never quilted before?
