PICTURES!

I just noticed, that's a great shot of my hand. Any palm readers out there? Any $$$ in the near future?

Lt Colonel Bok Bok is our second rooster. Our first was Sgt. Major Bok Bok, he was killed in the line of duty protecting his girls from a black snake. He was only 7 weeks old, a Rhode Island Red.

We got Lt Colonel Bok Bok from a guy in Wake Forest (or it may have been Raleigh). He had all his chickens in a shed type house. Colonel was a year old when we got him and when we brought him home it was the first time he had ever stepped foot outside that shed. He takes really good care of his ladies.

That blood looks nasty. Being human blood, it is slightly graphic, but, more importantly, did you get a tetanus shot? Have you thought of blood poisoning? Salmonella poisoning? If you feel the slightest bit sick, I would see a doctor right away. I work in a hospital, and I see these things all the time.

Thanks for your concern. How long do tentanus shots last? The last one I got was about 7 years ago.

I will go to the doctor if I start to feel different. I'm sure it doesn't matter to much but it was a brand new wire, no rust...

I saw the post about the sod and it reminded me of what I did in my chicken yard. We just put in a brand new veggie garden and I used a flat spade to cut 1x1 (about) squares of sod out and moved it into my chicken yard. It took.. and it's FREE! If you have a field nearby you could do the same... or maybe designate a section of your lawn as a "grass garden" for your chickies?

Tetanus shots, well you get one every 10 years, then a slightly different one if you actually have a questionable skin break. Glad it was new wire.
