Piece of advice and reaon why I am not bright

one caveat --

if you do pay bills electronically, especially if it's a recurring bill ... watch the bank or financial institution like a hawk

we've had problems when they changed the account numbers, during a "reorganization" and didn't tell us they were doing so ... and of course the electronic transaction went BLOOEY since the account number no longer existed ...

expensive mess ! watch out for things like that ...

i know PC. I am never going to let this happen again. I have $14.00 in cash going to be deposited today. My mom is goin on her lunch break to do it for me.

kaneke,

My mom pays the phone bills and makes sures she sees everything broken down. I only pay for the ringback tone which is $1.99. Text is a waste of time and money to me

I keep my debit card in my checkbook. That way I have to take the checkbook out to get the card and I can write in the deduction right away.

thats smart. I got to do that. I just keep one check in my wallet and leave the rest at home though.

Sounds to me like maybe you should keep the checkbook and debitcard with you.

I am glad you got that "cleaned" up> yeah and I was thinking when you pay bills online watch so the companies dont charge more than theyare supposed to (hidden fees that dont exist)
They always say it is so convenient to pay that way but it is a lot easier for them to charge extra without anyone knowing - I have heard of that happening a lot

I am very careful with my receipts as well. things that are on sale I make sure are on my reciept. My mom is always getting overcharged with her stuff.

I hate hidden fees but I am the person who read the small print
