I'm wanting to raise hogs for the first time for meat,I live in the country on a little hobby farm/homestead. We have chickens, ducks, rabbits, dogs, cats, and other animals. I was wondering there feeding/housing/space/entertainment etc. I know a lot about them for the most part but never raised them. Any tips or advice will be very helpful..thanks

If the pen is larger rather than smaller, they won't smell so much. If it is hot they need a way to cool off. A friend of mine had a sprinkler on a timer. It would come on and sprinkle a corner of the hog pen during the hottest part of the day. Two pigs do better than one. You can get information from the farm advisor's office and there are also some books available for the beginner who just wants to raise a pig or two. These books can tell you everything you need to know. Hogs are easy to raise.

Yes they would have a nice size hog panel pen in the woods so it would be always shady and of course they can wallow and root up. And since they'll be in the woods they'll of course have trees/bushes/logs etc so they won't get bored and yes I will have 2...thanks
