Can I share our hog story?
1st, you must know that the closest DH got to animals before meeting me was the meat counter at the grocery store.
So, I bring home 2 young hogs with the intent to fatten and harvest. Other than a few small incidents, 6 months goes by pretty quickly.
January comes and its time to tote them off to the meat market for processing.
DH and his buddy (another non-farm boy) and myself and our two teenage sons prepare to load them onto the truck. Dh lowers the ramp into the stall and stands back expectantly. Ummm. Hello? I smiled and said 'whatcha doing?'. He replies that he is waiting for the hogs to walk up the ramp.
2 hours, a box of bandaids, blood, squeals, screams, a pitchfork (not as bad as it sounds), 10 lbs of bait (corn), and several lengths of rope, we have the hogs on the truck.
Hogs are fun.... lol
