Slip the bands ASAP. The window of opportunity is small. Then they just wont go on,, :(
The mother will try to pull the bands . It happened to mine many times.
I used a small piece or yarn around the band to make it tighter/smaller so it does not slip off. Slightly tedious and usually a 2 person endeavor. After a couple days the leg grew soo fast, the yarn was no longer needed. I removed the yarn.
I have not tried this, but considered using athletic tape on the babys foot to separate the toes and create a fan shaped. This way the band would not slip off.
I usually just kept putting the bands on each time I noticed them off.

Thanks! :D

Just now put bands back on. We will see. It was still easy so maybe too soon yet...

I think that's what I'll do. :)

I do my banding at earlier stage. My fear/concern was that when pulling the toe back out thru band, I WOULD BREAK THE LIL ONES BONE IN TOE.:hit
I will continue my old way and keep redoing it every-time it falls off. :he
Looks like it doesn't from viewing this video. He is using 7 MM bands. Most standard/common/popular size is 8MM
Last thing on my mind would be taking my pigeons to a PIGEON PODIATRIST,,,,, :old:oops:

Hope I'm not making a horrible mistake...
I switched out the poopy nest bowl shown in the previous post for an identical clean one with the added ventilation holes.
The poop was not drying out due to the damp weather we are having and the high sides on the dog bowl kept them from ejecting the poop outside the bowl.:(

Hygiene always a good move. In nature pigeons have a flat surface at best with some twigs and feathers they bring in. Wind dries the gumdrops faster than in your coop safe from drafts.
Your babies are growing like weeds. Probably faster,:gig
Take a pix every day and at one month view as a slide show. Its AMAZING.
