Pigeon care basics? What are basic pigeon housing requirements?

I"m faced with a tough decision: friend's parents are ok with getting another pigeon, but I am almost 400% sure that they will not drive two hours for one. I really don't want to ship a bird, but it's starting to look like the options are either no pigeon friend or a shipped one. What should I do? My parents also will not drive that far.
just be patient. something will show up.
That's probably a great idea. Loft is getting built today- friend's dad is excited to build. I'm making a gravity fed feeder to avoid Blueberry spilling all the food everywhere.
Cool. It is good to limit pigeons food, as they will pick out their favorite seeds, and not get a good diet. I recommend it you aren't flying, All they can eat in 15 minutes.

Pigeon is mostly just sitting in the corner and eating when we put food near it. What do you mean by how much they can eat in 15 minutes? Is there something more like '4 cups of food a day'?

looks a bit small if it were me I'd get that one and let her play in our house for at least 30 minutes every day when u have time let her out for three hours also a word of warning black_cat if u actually have a black cat u must alway make sure that the pigeon and the cat never meet even if the pigeons are in a loft I have too many pigeons dye that way
good luck 🕊🕊

The pigeon is at my friend's house, no cat there. We've adjusted to a system where the pigeon has free access in and out of the crate to fly around. She/he always stays on the property and always comes back to the crate. She likes to perch on the porch railing, top of the swingset, and on the roof. She is put in the crate and brought inside at night. The cat crate is not a permanent home, but is working until we can get a loft figured out.
