Pigeon courting

The male will be cooing in her ear, & tailgating her with his fanned tail dragging behind. They also do alot of kissing & necking. You'll know what I'm talking about when you see it.

Male will coo, bob head, fan tail and circle prospective mate. If she think's he is cute they will bill (kiss), she will squat and they will mate. He will pick a nest site and start calling her to it. They will sit there trembling wings and bobbing heads. Nest building commences and he will bring nest material that she arranges. When nest is finished, he will start pecking at her and chasing her. Don't panic, this is normal behavior and is called "driving." This stimulates hormonal changes that cause her to form and lay eggs. She will lay an egg, and then two days later she will lay a second egg. Both will incubate and feed the squabs. Hopefully this helps. Understand that sometimes two c*cks or two hens will get confused and adopt these same mannerisms and pair up. 2 hens = 4 eggs in a nest. 2 c*cks = no eggs in a nest.
