Pigeon flew away :-(

Just put a half coffee cup out tied in each front corner of cage, one with layer pellets, one with water. keep water full, and food half full, you should have to top off or refill two to four times a day maybe one young are feathering (keeping food and water up makes parents confident they can raise both young so don't neglect or abandon ect i guess, but worked for me). she can raise two young at time just fine, as had single hens that were ready to lay when got and raise squeakers on own and then lay another egg that was fertile and raise it. layer is extremely easy for them to digest and rich nutrition for her and babies.
Even though she has recently started to sit on the eggs it'l be fine i will put the containers up today hopefully without scaring her off. Thank you to everyone for helping :)

I have put the food in the containers and even though i have not seen her get up im sure she is eating the food (unless something else is getting in but i doubt it as she would e been startled and not sat on the eggs

Ive heard, seen, and tried many things. Most worked great seeming, even though I'm still an amature pigeon hobbyist id think. Pigeons luckily are extremely easy keepers. my nesting chinease owl pigeons are supposed to be really hard to keep because of frilly loose sparce upturned feathers, small size and smaller shortened beaks. mine however seem to now be preffering to gobble down whole dog food, not hardly touching offered pretty decent blend of grains seeds and pellets. the purina gold worked good enough for while but not the green at all. I've let some free fly 24/7, and see how and what they do to naturally raise their young and what they try and succeed at feeding. I one season lost some young to Turkey vulture (yeah i thought they were scavangers too!), this last season had some lost from some falconers peragrine. she was really built up and fat for the season especially, perfect feathers and shape, came real close, no fear at all, and had jesses attached. id like to think i learned a lot on pigeontalk over years, and recently on here since pigeons got to be bigger topic or i just found some more active on here than P.T., though some of same great helpful people, oddly mostly on both far ends of age range, were few in middle seeming to just be selling litterally and/or figuratively.

I post bearing bad news of two kinds firstly the pigeon has decided she has has enough of sitting on both eggs and secondly on a unrelated matter my hen has failed to hatch chicks ,several have died and i think one has died in the egg if that is possible?
Thanks for all tour help anyway guys just wasnt meant to be

It is heart breaking but when you have animals you can expect loss. I lost one of my 3 squabs I had in a foster nest. Two is a magical number when it comes to pigeons. Occasionally you can raise three. Hopefully in about 10 days you will have another clutch and things will go better.

I wont as i had only one pair which the male flew away . Can i ask how many types of racing breeds are they? I can list some that i know of lwgich is as follows;
Delbars
Logans
Buschaerts

there is blue bars also.

So sorry to hear about your pigeon but they are such smart birds so dont give up on them that male caan be closes than you think to coming home. I had i white male pigeon with an older male. I let them stay in my shed for ages then i decided to release them. I took them 27 kilometers away and the older one never came back. Exactly 1 week later the white male can back and he never had training before. that lets you think alot, they are such smart birds.

Now i bought him a female a month ago and they are on day 9 of sitting on there eggs and everything is going very good.

He still can come back

Im glad he came back , my male bird wasn't at my house for long hence why i have doubt he will be back. Iv bought another male anyway now young bird (not a squeeker) still is maturing

There are many, many strains of racers. Janssens, sions, trentons, bekaerts, jan aardens, van loons, staf van reets (SVR), huysken van riels (HVR), van wanroy, meulemans, houbens, devriendts, stichelbauts, strassarts, bastins, fabry, etc etc. Then you have other families within the strains that people have specialized in. Then you have bloodlines based around certain birds, like Dreamboy, Europa Star, The Duke, Tomba, Surebet, etc. And lofts that have many different birds but anything that comes into/out of the loft gets identified as that name, like Ganus Family Loft (GFL). He has birds from different counties and different strains, families, etc but in the end they are often lumped as "Ganus stuff".

Blue bar is a color, by the way.
