Pigeon food

There really is no one ideal food. It all depends on what kind of pigeons you have, and what you are doing with them... be it pets, breeding, racing or other performing breeds. They also have different requirements at different times of the year such as during the molt or resting period during winter. A good general purpose feed will be somewhere around 14% protein. Conditioner type feeds will typically be somewhere around 16% protein, and maintenance types will be somewhere around 12%. Usually best to find mixes with a more varied mix of seeds and grains as each seed and grain has it's benefits and drawbacks. Where do you live? A good local feed store should be able to get you something.
