Pigeon partial paralysis

Sorry, have been very busy. But bio gave you some very good advice. Calcium deficiency can and does cause a leg paralysis in hens who are laying eggs. I have had it happen a couple times in the past when a hen for whatever reason was refusing to eat grit.
Thanks for confirming from experience!
My answer was based on my research only. :)

Regarding oyster shell grit - the size of pieces varies widely. I will put some out and let them pick through for a while. At some point I notice some remaining, usually largest pieces, which are not favored by the birds - those I toss and put out a fresh serving.

Update:
Since having the oyster shell added back into their diet, my pigeon has had one more episode only two days after her previous episode, and now she seems to be completely back to normal. We have also invested in a 50 lb sack of oyster shell just in case the local feed store runs out again. Thank you @biophiliac and @Kiki.

I am so very pleased to hear you were successful in treating her condition! I love the hens!! Sometimes I wish my whole flock was just hens. Lol

Thank you. I agree. My hens seem to be sweeter, and tamer than most of my cock birds. I believe they enjoy being handled more, though I am trying to get them all to a tame disposition.
