In Marion, Indiana on the square they had so many pigeons, that they tried cutting all the trees, poisoning, etc.. What they finally did was broadcast sounds of birds of prey (hawks maybe) over a speaker. It goes on to this day, and is a little weird! But I haven't seen any pigeons on the square.
