Pigeon Talk

I just got my first pigeons at the start of this summer. One of my dad's old friends had a bunch of Birmingham rollers and he gave me 8. Two breeding pairs and 4 young birds. Here is one of the males with his one chick.

Very nice! They are pretty! More pictures please. :)

BP....u getting any of this hurricane fall out? Been steady raining here since last night
Yes sir... it's been no fun. The birds (AND ME) are miserable! Hopefully it doesn't affect many more people or their homes.

Mr. Hawks had a nice sit, on the coop! While it was pouring down. I'm guessing he didn't have much luck hunting in the rain, so decided to try for an easy meal. Still missing one bird, one came back late last night.

Here are two of my other homers. Idk what you guys use for nesting boxes but we built 2 when I got the rollers and then put 4 of these metal chicken boxes in the loft until I build more. The one place I got birds from was using milk crates so I'm assuming these will be fine.

Here is what the boxes look like that we made.

Here are 2 more birds I got from a guy getting rid of them on Craigslist, I'm not sure what breed they are.

I got 4 like this from the guy and he told me to put them in a tiny cage for a few days and they will pair up. Its been 3 days and I dont see much affection going on between them, I think they may both be guys.

You lucky duck! I've been wanting black saddle racers for years...

the last picture is old English frills, also called sattinettes. Is that the breed you weren't sure about?

I wasn't sure about either
I'm not to lucky, I only have the one and it does not have a mate. How would it work if i paired it up with a gray homer or black? Would the chicks carry the black saddle gene?
