I am in 4H and this is my third litter. I allow my sows to farrow in a loose 10x8 stall with full turn out. Came home last night and my sow had started farrowing. This is her second litter. 1st baby was chilled and gasping, eyes not open, thin hair. I got her under a heat lamp and made sure airways were clear, gave her about 2 ozs electrolytes and Karo syrup in warm water. Lost her 6 hours later, mom has now had 10 more, some have their eyes open, all are active and nursing. Whats the best way to insure survival? Thanks

I leave them completely alone for at least a day or two not handleing any and let nature take its course. If they make it within the first 2-3 days everything is normally fine.
