Pigs- give me your opinion, please

LOL... we have 4 pigs and that thought has crossed our minds LOL.... we have this neighbor we call the witch!!! She likes to let our horses out and then call animal control on us... not to mention over the summer she gave our horses Methamphetamines which cost us a fortune to have the stomach pumped. But since we did not see or video tape it, we can not prove it was her... but we know it was!!!

Anyways, Pigs are wonderful for rooting up a yard old trees stumps and clearing out land! And then yes they provide wonderful food... we are getting ready to butcher our first which is right now 400+ pounds... we should be set on meat for a long, long time!!!!

OMG that is just awful to think that there are people out there that would do something like that gets my blood boiling. I would put up some cameras to catch her in the act then I would nail her (_l_) to the wall.

I think pigs I think mmmmmm bacon.

We are trying to hun... have the cameras up... doesnt work though when she trespasses and hides in the trees (need to get more cameras). I can not tell you how many times we have been to court... Judge even knows or suspects she is doing it, but without concrete proof and evidence... nothing he can do!!!

Thats why the comment was made about my pigs... we have literally thought of it!!! And we are not that way, we are very friendly out going people!!! One day she will be caught.... The only reason she is doing all of this to the horses is because she tried going after our kids... BIG MISTAKE.... kids talk... horses cant.

The body disposal is true. We had an older contract grower that raised pigs for us...he had a heart attack (supposedly) and must have fallen in the pen with the pigs. His son found him that night...only rubber boots and bits of coveralls were left and some bone fragments. 20 pigs (250 lb) consumed an entire man in 8 hours.

Our pig Candyman use to go with us when we went out to ride our horses.

He went on all the trail rides with us. It was always a big difficult to get him to follow us once we passed a pond (the mud) but he would eventually come running along "whoofing" and doing that get sideways run.

They are also escape artists. And too clever by half if they get out and you are trying to get them back in. A bucket of feed does do the job pretty well though. And I think making bacon is a good enough job for any animal. Yummm

Well, I guess getting a pig is not for me. I use the chickens for garbage disposal, the anatolian is doing demo and I can only eat so much bacon. Thanks for the replies.........
