A vet can't tell what might be in the animal's system. Like mentioned various medications could still be there with no signs. Parasites also aren't visible from the outside without taking the time for a fecal. Some are a real concern in hogs. Not all animals will end up looking very malnourished from parasites and it's hard to tell a poorly fed animal from an infected one. I wouldn't take one vet checkup as safe. I'd need a good week or 3 of observing the animals, feeding them well, and possibly doing a fecal but I'd probably just go ahead and deworm them and wait the required period rather than calling out the vet and paying for a fecal.
