Pilgrim geese - male or female???

@Camotracey
those babies have sure grown and are so beautiful.. How the littlest doing other than little.?From here it looks good. I'd be smooching on it all the time. lol

A just a side note, if your where it is very hot that metal roof can get extremely hot and can burn those babies feet. We had a member on the duck thread back in summer wh's ducks got burnt feet from walking on some metal.

Yes little one other than being the smallest is doing very well, very active and being a pig when it comes to eating.

Thanks for pointing out the possible issue with the tin being hot, but ironically the tin was there as I was concerned about them getting too cold. The outdoor pen I made only has a solid back, the sides and front are mesh. It had been a rainy windy afternoon (the wheather doesn't know what it's doing at the moment), I had been using the tin to lean against the outdoor pen to give them some shelter from the cool wind. I didn't know how long I had before it was going to rain, so I literally dropped the tin and tipped the pen to give them hopefully some free time before having to go inside for the night. Of cause instead of getting amongst the grass, they wanted to know what this tin grass was all about

Cheers,

Cameron

What part of world are you in? are you using heat with them? at their age their age they still need heat. especially if cold and rainy.

Glad to hear the smallest is doing so well..

In Australia, so we are starting summer weather, but with afternoon storms, 36degrees celcius today, but fluctuating between 20's and high 30's, so when I say cold wind I guess it's relative, it was still a shorts and shirt day, but not when standing out in the wind.

They are still indoors in the evening, but during the day I have a professional who can show me if the goslings need to go back indoors her name is Midnight (one of my muscovy ducks, she is currently nursing ducklings):D.

It's nice to have a professional to help out. lol Sounds like you have it well under control with the help of Midnight.

Well, talk about a handful, no more picking them up two at a time :)

The biggest ones are starting to get the small feathers on the tail and wings. They are growing so quickly!

Here I was thinking I had gone overboard with the images :)

We have been gradually introducing the goslings to the rest of our flock (if we have to, we can seperate them in the future, but our chickens and muscovy's live happily together).

As Midnight (mum moscovy) has been unkeen to let the goslings anywhere near her babies (who could blame her, they are giant ducklings :D ), we decided to pull some of the ducklings out with mum in the pen for a few minutes.

The social outing didn't exactly work at first

As you can see, there was an unwritten rule between duckling and gosling, goslings own the North side of the hose and ducklings own the south side :D

So we let Midnight out and tried again. After a while they ended up comming together for a short time

Midnight was a bit guarded, but they all had a bit of interaction.

Cheers,

Cameron
