Pin/Blood Feather Fell Out?

Hi everyone. We had just taken our duck out of his bath and he flapped his wings a bit, and this developing feather fell to the ground.


There was blood at the tip of it, but we can’t find where it came from on his body, since he doesn’t seem to be bleeding from wherever it fell out. There was lots of blood and a membrane inside of the feather.

When he shook himself dry, there was no blood splatter and now he’s just preening himself like nothing’s wrong. Should we still keep an eye on him for potential bleeding or is he in the clear?

It almost appears as if it 'died' and has fallen out to be replaced by a healthy feather.

We found another one just now. Not sure where they keep coming from, or why they fell out... What could cause them to fall out?
