Pine shavings from Wal-mart?

my dad gets free pine shaving from somewhere in our town which is good since i have too many chickens to worry about the price

I always use the WalMart pine shavings in my indoor brooder, as they are not as dusty as the others. All my chicks have done fine on them.

I buy it for my guinea pig, and for buying woodchips inthe city the big bag is a good deal, but you can get stall blocks / huge bags for less at some feedstores. The walmart ones were very clean and low dust. (don't use it for small rodents though, bad for mice, hamsters, rats, they can have reactions to it)

I am using Walmart's pine shavings now. Chickens seem just fine.

I keep having my chicks die and I am wondering if it is the wal-mart shavings. I have tried meds and everything else I can think of.
