Pine Tree limbs safe?

In the recent TS Florence, we had some down limbs from our tall pine trees. We are new to duck raising... but I'm hoping it's ok to let the ducks hide in and chew on them? They seem to love it, but I wanted to check. I can't really find a thread answering this particular question.

They may get sappy chewing on them. I am not sure if they would be harmful you might try google.

It's safe..My yard is surrounded by pine and spruce trees..
