Pink Delaware Pullets?

Bizarre! Well, since it seems to be in the same place on all of them, the next suggestion is that the cockerel got something on his own belly and is rubbing them all and it's transferring. No reason a Del should have pink on it unless it's something external. Hmm.

This may or may not have anything to do with the pink feathers but I was watching a medical show and they were telling about this woman who's breast milk would turn pink. It took them awhile to get it figured out but it was some type of bacteria that would turn it pink. A possbility I guess.

I agree with an above post , rooster might be getting something from himself onto them, but hey if not maybe you could start a whole new breed. Its a nice shade of pink too. What would you call them? pinkawares? delapinks, pinkeys..

It is so strange, we noticed it on the day they started to lay. It is slightly pinker than it looks in the pictures. We have wondered if it is some hormonal reaction connected to laying. The color is all through the feathers in the colored areas, not just on the surface. It is in the same area on both birds.

We checked over the boy, but can see nothing about him that would case this coloring when he loves them up. Our dirt (which is currently mud due to heavy rain) is very brown, really no red tones at all. The mystery continues.

I think I would call them "Blush Delawares", but I like Delapinks, Too!!

Check your rooster over to see if he has something on him . If not , I have to say its pretty, a new sub-breed. what would you call them? the pink ladies

It's possible that the rooster is making them bleed a little bit when he breeds them, and the wet weather is carrying the blood throughout the feathers in that area. An older relative recently fell and cut her head badly, and her granddaughter posted pictures of her white hair with the blood in it -- even after it had been washed out a bit, it made her hair all look pink just like your birds.
