Hi all....had a question I was wondering if anyone who has experience using peepers/blinders might be able to help me with.

So we have a small number of hens, and a few of them were picking at the backs of the others. We tried a bunch of different things, including Pick-No-More, isolation, etc, and nothing worked. I finally read about these pinless peepers, and they have worked tremendously....feathers growing back, no more picking, all good.

My question is, now that the feathers on the affected hens have grown back, are there any recommendations on how long we should keep these on the hens? I can't imagine we need to leave them on forever, but I'm trying to break their picking habit here as well....I realize the answer is probably different for everyone, but just curious if anyone else has used these and what you might recommend?

I put them on 3 of my 5 hens, 20180128_101256.jpg ,because one hen was molting and those three were plucking the pin feathers from the poor girl. 20180128_101329.jpg ,
I kept the peepers on till her feathers grew back around 3 weeks.
Here is the result. 20180216_090017.jpg . I had no problems with plucking after her feathers grew back. GC
ETA; the peepers have been off all the hens for 5 months with no problems.

Thanks for the reply! This started for us in late winter...we saw a little picking on them here and there, and then one morning we went out to the coop and three of them were picked bare to the skin on their back, a spot about the size of a baseball right above their tail. Since we put the peepers on the feathers have started to grow back quickly, so we'll let that finish which would put us at about 3-4 weeks, then take them off and see what happens. Thanks again!
