Pintail expert

Clint is right, that is a male, but I will also throw out the hermaphrodite card as another unlikely but possible answer (normally hermaphrodites show a little color). Either way it does not look exactly like a western US pintail to me, just very similar. My only other question is- Are your other ducks in breeding or non-breeding plumage right now? (If you do not have any other ducks then what color phase are the wild ducks in Israel right now?)

I don't know anything about Pintails, but it's a very pretty duck! And yes, drakes are male ducks and hens are females.

The truth is i recieved this duck as a donation to our dorm wher i raise some ducks, and the old man who gave it to me tould me its a northern pintail drake, and i never seen his ducks. At this time of season the young males i asum r fully coloured, but in my case the man who gave me him the season is only starting now, so im asuming he is about 6 to 9 months old. And hear is a picture of a older couple that belongs to r neighbor
