pip on day 19. Normal??

we have 10 eggs in the bator due on the 15th and this is our first hatch. I looked in on them a few mins. ago and one has a pip. Is it normal to pip 2 days early? I have heard they can be a couple days late but wasnt sure about 2 days early.

I have heard that certain types will/can pipe early.... are they by chance silkies? Those seem to be the ones I here about most often piping early!

I am pretty sure mine piped on day 18, the day of lockdown. I went to add a sponge and then noticed there was a pip, now on day 19, I have 2 completely out, and 1 more zipped, and another pip.

Crazy huh?

Temps must have been a little high.

I had one pip on day 19 once... hatched first thing on Day 20.

not sure but I have never had it happen. I wouldn't worry to much about it, but then again I never pay to much for eggs.

post what type of eggs they were guys... I am curious if certain breeds are more likely to pipe early or not

White Rock, Banty mixes, standard mixes, and Bobwhite Quail. Not sure on my pigeons I let their mom hatch them the one set of squabs I got.

My silkies always seem to pip on day 19. Matter of fact I have two pipped right now that are on day 19.

LF Light Brahma seem to pip on day 19 too, even when they are a mix.

I just had my one and only chick hatch on day 19...It was a LF Light Brahma baby!
