Pip on wrong end

I have a chick that pipped on the wrong end at the end of day 19. It pipped completely through and stuck it’s beak out the hole. It also bled just a bit when it did this. I just left it for about 30 hours but then I noticed it looked very very dry. I really didn’t want to assist but the membrane looked stuck around his beak. So I pulled him out and moistened the membrane with some warm water and zipped for him, shell only. He moved and his membrane started bleeding again so I put some cornstarch on it and put him back in. I don’t want to lose him from shrink wrapping but I don’t want want to open my incubator again. How do I keep him from getting dry again because his membrane already looks like paper

Looks like you did fine. Yes, keep it moist with coconut oil or Vaseline, and wait for him to start struggling a bit more to get out.
You could peel back a little more of the shell, but just more of that end, not the sides. Chip the shell and the white outer membrane (the paper looking one), but leave the inner membrane. Moisten it all over and watch for the blood vessels to recede more.

More pics would also be great if possible.
 
It’s been a few hours since I initially helped and when I took him out this time the whole membrane was dry and glued to his wings. I oiled it and he popped his head through on his own. No blood and yolk is completely absorbed. I left his legs in so he can kick out on his own since the lower part wasn’t stuck to him. That membrane was extremely thick—I was never able to see in this egg, not sure if it had anything to do with it. He has a slight cross beak and I have a feeling other issues so I won’t be surprised if he doesn’t make it.

It was leather! I’ve read so much about just leaving them to hatch and not opening the incubator I might have left him too long. The membrane was extremely thick and I even had a hard time pulling it when he popped his head through

The way I look at it is at least you gave it a chance that it probably didn’t have without help. Hopefully it comes around and does fine.
Great job.
I like Vaseline on membranes, but coconut oil is very helpful for getting stuck pieces loose from their skin and feathers.
