Is the sire your gorgeous EE bantam? Photos

Exciting!! That sounds like an amazing mix, too! Any pictures of them?
I don't think you were necessarily wrong for doing so, looking at the situation you had. It sounds like you needed to get these birds out there as soon as possible, and at least it was someone you were familiar with and trusted instead of just birds you found randomly in an ad online posted by someone you'd never met before!
My hope is that I can do just that. If not showing them myself, then providing good quality birds to people who do want to show them.![]()

Yay! I'm so excited! Oh I bet it's going to be the fluffiest chick ever hatched! In other news, I officially have my first egg toward this year's Easter hatchalong now! And I'm pretty sure it's a Judy egg!!I caught her in the nest earlier without any eggs under her, and now she's out and about and there's one little egg in that same nest!
That was kinda my thought, if I can produce chickens good enough that someone who does show would utilize my chicks or hatching eggs in their lines, that would say a lot!You have an excuse for doing it, I really don't; it was just last year. I knew better than that, but I was in dire need to get Big Red some girls. The person I got then from is someone I trust, however, and I'd seen all their birds before getting them many times, I've been to their place (tossed the clothes and such afterwards). Still, doesn't justify what I did. Not something I'll ever do again. Big Red was hurting himself trying to get to Kolovos's hens, I couldn't keep him calm
maybe selling the eggs to other people and having them show, which in turn proves your stock could work? I've heard of people doing that

I don't have Blues anymore because he was rough on the hens and killed their chicks.
Ugh and yesterday morning lost one of my Silver Spangled Spitzhauben hens to an Owl ... on my front porch! She was the one that kept leading the others over the house to the front yard for cat food. Sigh.
I'll be making an order from Cackle again next year for replacements and a chance to get a Chamois Spitzhauben rooster. There Chamois Spitzhaubens look pretty good compared to the Golds and Silvers.
