Pipd's Peeps!

Oh no. I'm hoping she can pass it...

Have you tried putting vaseline in the vent and trying to push it out yourself? I know it's risky but...

Yes, that was my next step when my mom gets home from work to help, maybe not moving the egg myself, but at least getting some lubricant around it so that she can work on it a little easier. Frannie is so skittery with people, and she's so small, and it feels like that egg is right there at her vent. I think I'm going to need another set of hands to hold on to her while I apply it. She has nestled herself down into her warm pen for now, so hopefully she can hang on for just a few more hours...

I'm so sorry poor little Fannie. I can't offer anything more besides a warm soak in a tub but since Crash is in there and the vaseline on her vent. She's in my prayers.

I hope and pray she makes it.

She passed it!! :weee Oh, I'm so relieved--and I'm sure she is, too!

I gave her a second round of Nekton paste about two hours ago. Went upstairs to sit with the chicks for a while to relax, because I was so nervous I would break the egg or something while trying to help! When I finally got the nerve up and got the lubricant and a glove ready, I went in there and found her egg in her pen with her! Thank goodness!! It's about the same length as her usual egg, but has this ripple around the center that's wider than normal, and it's rough textured, too, so it probably was a combination of those that got it stuck.

Frannie was MORE than ready to get away from us scary humans, so I put her back outside with the flock. She's doing just fine now!

:th That was stressful!

Great news I'm so glad she passed it. I get nervous too when I'm trying to give them medicene or anything.

I can deal with dosing meds orally, it's just when I have to work with their other end that I'm not so sure, especially with an egg that could possibly have broken if I pressed to hard or something! Oh, and shots. I've never had to give any of my chickens shots, thank goodness, but if I ever do... Well, my parents are both pharmacists, they could do it, right? Anyway, Frannie's doing great today, keeping far away from me. I think she must have heard what I was going to do to her to help with her egg.

My aunt was out today to see the chicks before they get too big, so I didn't get any new pictures. However, here are the ones from yesterday that I forgot to post after everything that happened with Frannie!

Callette :love Dorkings are naturally adorable, don't you know.

Cuteness overload. All of them looked like they were posing for their photo shoot. I love the one of the dorkings running on those little short legs.

Rooska :love I reached my hand in to give attention to someone else and she ran right in there to intercept. As you can see, Endy was right there, too.

1000

Speaking of Endy, look who can fly out of the brooder all by herself now. Good thing there's a much taller fence around the tarp part of the brooder! (That'll only last so long, though. SIGH.)

Dorkings are so precious. :love This is Lydda in front and Callette in back posing beautifully, and Don with his back to the camera.

Flury stretching out! She reminds me of a ballerina with her little foot all stretched out. :love

A curious look from Izzy :love Oh, her precious cheeks!!

And thats not all, but I need to run out and close the coops for the night! Will post the other half of the pictures when I get back in! :D
