My first two times incubating it got that "incubating eggs" smell, but my last two hatches I've sanitized the eggs before setting and no smell, so that's a plus!

Oh I'll have to try that. Mine smelled like bleach water before I started. I really need to get one of the incubator disinfectants.

I've thought about getting one of those as well. Thus far, when I've had eggs that needed to be cleaned before setting, I've just used warm water and plain dish soap without issue. But I imagine a cleaner meant for things like eggs and incubators would be better suited for the job. If you do get one of them, let us know how it goes!

A Nora update this morning! Her scab fell off again and there does not seem to have been any more bleeding, so she now just has a bald spot. She's starting to get pins in that area as well, so pretty soon she'll be back to her normal, beautiful self.

As usual, she was not in the mood for pictures...

I am reasonably sure I'll know her from her sisters once her bald spot is gone (assuming it does fill in completely), but just in case, I'm thinking it's time to put another color leg band on her. Right leg has her coop and year colors, so this one will go on her left leg for individual ID. I don't want to use any of the colors for the other coops or that I've used to mark birds for other things as that might end up being confusing later on, so that leaves red, orange, brown, or pink. What do y'all think would suit our girl best?

Well, we've got baby Judy booties on the way I didn't look very thoroughly, but I saw at least some veining in most of the Judy eggs!!
