Yeah, my Lavender was the sweetest, cuddliest hen. I may have mentioned this, she was the one that loved people so much that she'd sit in the middle of everyone rather than play favorites and sit in someones lap if a group of us was outside.
I really do miss that hen, but of course I worry if I get another one that she won't live up to that.
That's super weird about the one getting swollen feet, though! I wonder what would cause that!
Is she particularly old? My old, old, old Easter-egger, Merlin, gets swollen feet sometimes, but she's 14 years old so I figured it was age related.

For real on the molting! The OEGBs look particularly pathetic because of those huge tail feathers missing, but very few of them molt with much grace. The co-mamas, Inara and Morena, are molting right now as well, and they've gone from round fluffs to patchy, scrawny looking things, the poor darlings.
I mostly get bantam Cochin eggs these days with only a few large eggs from my remaining large fowl hens.
