Pipd's Peeps!

Sad news this afternoon. Juniper, my Juni Bug, has passed away. 🙁 I'm not really sure what happened other than that I had noticed she had been resting on the ground a lot lately. She always had trouble with her feet, so I just assumed they were bothering her again, but no matter how many times I looked I didn't see anything going on. Not sure what else it could have been, unfortunately. Poor baby. She looked peaceful at least, just laying under the roost in the coop.

Juni was such a quiet and unassuming young lady. One of my original corner coop flock, she was an early cull for her ongoing foot issues. She was a gentle soul, rarely even pecking at the younger or smaller birds as they darted by her. Every night, she'd bawk-bawk at me until I'd pick her up and put her up to roost rather than hopping up there herself. I'll sure miss those big, brown eyes looking up at me expectantly every evening. 💔

Sorry you lost her! So many losses this year.

I thought I had lost a rooster to a hawk about two weeks ago or to something ells because I couldn't find him. I lost him to him self .... he shoved himself in to a concrete block hole and was barely alive when I found him. I had to dispatch him due to that. "Sigh" This has been the worst year.

Awe. Sorry to hear that. I didn't even know Juniper personally and I loved her. :hugs
It sounds like she had a great personality and was a true keeper regardless of her flaws. ❤️

I'm so sorry for your loss, Pipd:hugs. Forage high, sweet Juni

It's an unfortunate side effect of keeping so many birds to advanced ages, I think. Sometimes I have stretches where I lose several in a row. 🙁 At least I know for the most part that they led long, happy lives. Juni was a bit on the young side and sudden, though. 💔

I'm so sorry, that's awful! Sometimes they find the craziest ways to off themselves! :barnie Hang in there :hugs
