Piper's owners came

I think I might head out looking for her also with the dogs. Maybe joint custody is in order!

No word, I did take a short stroll around the property, I thought I heard barking, but couldn't quite pin point where it was coming from (she is a very vocal dog). Tomarrow morning we're going to call them and see if she came home, or if they found her, if not I'm going out and searching for her myself. Fencing will also slow her down, I hadn't thought about that before, but I know my danes can't cross fences that other dogs can walk right through.

If the owners didnt look for her last time, I assume they wont this time....maybe putting out flyers, etc would help get her back again.

I found her! We are having a yard sale at my mom's shop, we were already late and heading that way when I spotted her in a abandoned yard. Called her name and she was so happy to see me! We loaded her up and she's here w/ me now! I had my two already so now I have all 3 here. We left the owner's number at home, so I can't call them right now, we thought she said she worked at the nursing home, so we called them, well she doesn't work there anymore, she works at the school now (probably how she knows my neighbor, she's a cook at the school). I want to tell them, so someone doesn't come by and assume we've had her all this time and just not giving her back.

I am so glad that you found her again, I swear if I was you I would go ahead and go to Walmart and get a tag with YOUR phone number on it and put it on her, since they cant or wont. At least that way if she gets out again, you will be called by a finder! I was just thinking I believe I read in one of your earlier posts that they think she COULD be in heat, well if that is the case then that shows to me what kind of owner they are. She should be spayed or at least kept where she can NOT escape. I hope she hasnt been bred. UGH Keep her with you and let THEM come to YOU to get her back!

They came and got her and now I feel terrible, if I had any doubts that she wanted to be with them before NOW I know. She was wearing a collar this time (and a bandana, I had one on her at my house and I guess they liked it), but still no tags. I can't get tags made here, I'd have to order some or go about an hour away.

They seem like nice people, and I think to some degree they do like her, I just don't think they are meeting her needs.

When they came to get her she greeted them, she still wasn't the overly enthusiastic that you'd expect (really she greeted them like she greets everyone, she's pretty friendly). She likes my dad, he even considered taking her himself, when the owner showed, after the greeting they tried to call her and started walking toward their vehicle and turned and tried to follow my Dad, so the owner got ahold of her collar and she just sat down and wouldn't budge! Here's the part that made me feel terrible, they asked for my help, so I just called her over and walked to the vehicle w/ her following right along, then I had to help push her into the back seat. I didn't have anywhere near that much trouble getting her in our vehicle, she really didn't want to go, now I worry that she won't want to see me again.

I also found out that they did find her yesterday after coming by our house, so this was her leaving again! Good news though they are planning to have her spayed, they hope that will help keep her home. I don't want to discourage them from spaying her, I really think they should! But I also don't really think that's the problem.

I don't know if she's trying to come to my house or just wants to leave hers. I hope she'll come to me everytime, atleast at my house she isn't trying to leave and she's safe.
